As of about 5:45pm today, I have been smoke-free for one week. I have to say, it has been difficult, but surprisingly not as hard as I first thought. I barely ever think about smoking while at work. Even at Rock Lobster on Saturday night this past weekend, smoking really didn't cross my mind too much. The most difficult times are when I'm sitting with someone and just having a beer at Avg Joes or BRT.
My co-worker tried the new prescription drug for smoking recently. He was loving it for the first week or so, but after that he complained about the side effects. Do you think he really had side effects, or do you think he just wanted an excuse to continue smoking? Experience tells me it was probably both, but more of the latter.
I can't honestly say that I have quit smoking cigarettes forever, but if any possible future endeavors at quitting smoking are like this one, I think my chances for success just increased by a lot.

And like clockwork, I had a dream last night that involved me smoking. I woke up this morning thinking that I had really disappointed myself by giving in and relapsing. Damn subconscious.

Well the side effects may have been both real and an excuse. Or, it might be totally subconsciuos. Almost like a reverse placebo, you know?
It's like when you hear a report on tv about some illness and then for the next few days every symptom you have you think you might have it. What might have just been previously a headache here or loose stool there is suddenly attributed to the medicine.
As for your stuff... good for you. As always, don't put too much pressure on yourself but if you want to do it, go for it. :) Good luck to you, madam.

You are doing much better than me giving up Coca-Cola! I can't even make it three days and you've gone more than a week. If you take all the money you save from not buying cigarettes and maybe getting a deduction in health care costs, you could buy more shoes! :)
