With the inauguration of Barack Obama today, I hope that everyone's future is a little brighter and a little more hopeful. Happy Obama day!

Bob and I have officially reached adulthood: we are in the process of buying a house. We just signed the first round of contracts tonight. It's funny because while I am very very excited, I am extremely nervous that the inspection won't go well and we will have to pass on it. That nervousness is quashing the excitement just a little bit. I feel like I have found the house that I can call home for the next 30 years of my life, and if it doesn't work out I'll be pretty bummed, to say the least. I know there are plenty of great houses out there, but I feel like we've been looking for ages, and I'm ready to settle down, put my roots in, and DECORATE! :)

While the incident itself is not funny, I sorta found the headline on CNN.com to be:

"Anti-kidnapping consultant kidnapped"

Let me tell you how much I hate communication/language barriers with rude customer service reps. I hate them a lot. I just spent 40 minutes of my life dealing with said rude customer service rep. If someone is asking you a question, and you can't understand what they're asking, shouldn't you, as a "qualified professional" pass off that person to someone who can actually help them? And while we're on the subject, shouldn't you NOT just ignore the question and continue talking?? What is hard to understand about this? Everything, apparently.

I'm certainly not trying to be a heinous bitch with cultural insensitivity, but if English is not your first language, then maybe you could find someone whose language it is, and transfer me to that person, please!
