As of about 5:45pm today, I have been smoke-free for one week. I have to say, it has been difficult, but surprisingly not as hard as I first thought. I barely ever think about smoking while at work. Even at Rock Lobster on Saturday night this past weekend, smoking really didn't cross my mind too much. The most difficult times are when I'm sitting with someone and just having a beer at Avg Joes or BRT.

My co-worker tried the new prescription drug for smoking recently. He was loving it for the first week or so, but after that he complained about the side effects. Do you think he really had side effects, or do you think he just wanted an excuse to continue smoking? Experience tells me it was probably both, but more of the latter.

I can't honestly say that I have quit smoking cigarettes forever, but if any possible future endeavors at quitting smoking are like this one, I think my chances for success just increased by a lot.
