Misunderstood

It was on my way to work this morning that I witnessed an unusual sight. I was driving down 46th St between Keystone and Emerson, when about 30 yards ahead on the road, 3 doe (or is it 'does?'... maybe I'll just refer to them as deer) scampered across the 4-lane street, one right after the other. I was perplexed, for a few reasons. One, it was like rush hour. B, it was a semi-high traffic area, and three, there wasn't an abundance of wooded area in the direction they were running. I mean, there's some, but definitely not enough to warrant the deer being out and about at 8:30 in the AM. It was a strange and fascinating sight for me, as I don't see many deer out and about like that.

On the downside, this only justifies and increases my rampant fear of one day hitting a deer with my car. Apparently, at least on 46th St, it doesn't matter if it's day or night...deer will run out onto the street and cause me to total my car on it. Keep those eyes open, kids. The deer are EVERYWHERE at ANYTIME!!!
